Default 1986 vert unknown plug and relay

Ladies and Gentlemen, here we have what i believe to be my "courtesy delay timer module". However, replacement modules look nothing like what you see below. Replacements i have found have an L shape arrangement. Mine as you can clearly see is straight along the bottom. The pins are A through F with only 4 of the 6 pins used. The wires that go to the pins are as follows: green, grey, blk, and pink/blk.

The module was masking taped (from the factory) to the fuse box wiring harness (about six inches in from the fuse box). This is exactly where the courtesy timer is located per the FSM. I however cannot find a replacement that has a similar connection.

Questions
1 - is this my courtesy timer?
2 - where can i find a replacement?

This is my first post with photos, so please feel free to straighten me out if they do not show up as intended.

Not timer, timer wire colors are pink/white (C) black (B) white (A) and 2 whites on "D".
Haven't' had to look for mine, but looking at FSM, should be a little more towards radio, taped to harness.

As I said in my post listed above, you have pulled the low coolant/fan relay module. The courtesy light delay module is about 6" to the left. You can get a replacement board for your module for about $40. Check it out:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...x-84-89-a.html

http://www.ecklers.com/corvette-circ...1984-1989.html

ALSO, did you purchase your car new? Do you have the original Pace Car decals?

PM you get credits too!
I have jumped the relay for the moment just to make sure everything is in fact good to go. Now that the plug is easy to get to and i know what in the middle east it is, ill definitely be getting a new one (along with some other goodies, thanks for the links!). Previouse owner straight wired the elec fan, so thats the next thing you experts will be helping me figure out

Heck no i didnt purchase it new, im only a few years older than it is (o_O). I bought it from an older gentlemen who was the single owner down here in south carolina. He didnt drive it much or very hard, but he didnt maintain it properly either. But for 4k its in good shape. Ive already got some Z51 repros on it and the bright yellow paint pops pretty loudly.

It does have the indannopolis decals, but the one on the ac control is scratched ((
I think there were only about 2100 made? Kinda cool because they were the first verts since 76 i believe. Why do you ask?

I am really not interested in getting credit. I just want to make sure that you get the information that you need to properly repair your Corvette.

I am doing research about the OEM decals that came with all 7315 '86 Pace Cars. I currently have 81 cars in my '86 Pace Car database. I would like to add your car if you agree.

Is you car an automatic or manual transmission? What color are your decals? Are they installed on the car? Do you have the original box the decal set came in? They should be Upper Black with Gold inset, Lower Black lettering. Can you check them out and let me know?

Finally, what are the last four digits in your VIN ?

Any information that you can supply will be very helpful.

Thanks,

Pete Mihaltian

The car is an automatic with the indiannopolis 500 decal on the ac control. I dont know that i have seen pace car decals anywhere else though. I dont have the original box for the decals, not sure exactly what your referring to.

The the vin is: 1g1yy67835900830

For all I know it may not even be an actual pace car! Were knock offs common for that period? 7315 pace cars?

You're missing a digit. Should be a G denoting 1986 between he 3 and 5, like this 1g1yy6783G5900830. This is quite and early Pace Car (830 of 7315). May even have the scissor type hood prop on the RH side unless a PO updated it.

No sir i do not have any exterior decals as shown. Would they have come with the car?
Mine also has a wing which i believed was factory, unlike the two shown, but not so sure now.

No wing from the factory. The luggage rack (RPO V56) that has sort of a wing effect wasn't offered until 1989, but has been added to many earlier convertibles.
