I have a 94 LT1 . The problem I am having is that my coolant is bubbling especially when the car is turned off after a short drive . The car never overheated but it does reach 230 . Iam thinking this is an indication of a head gasket leak . But there is no white smoke and the oil is not milky . Could this be an intake gasket leak ? I have not done a pressure test yet .
could be a bunch of things including needing to have the air 'burped' out. BTW, easiest and cheapest.
Bleed the air out of the system first. If that dose not clear it up then start checking for head gaskets and such.An easy way to check for a head gasket leak is to use a compression tester hose and compress air into each cylinder. and watch for bubbles. Make sure cylinder being tested is at bdc with both valves closed. Also look at spark plugs for discoloration. Some times its hard to see the steam from water leaking into the cylinder.

What is the best way to "burp" my car . Oh yeah thanks for your help
On the thermostat neck there is a brass fitting. Start the car with the radiator cap off . Top off the water and then rev the engine a little while loosening the screw with a wide common screwdriver. When coolant comes out close the screw. and replace the cap.
The heater core may be bad or the plastic piece that the hose connects to just before the heater core is cracked and you just cant see it yet.You can't presure test these systems with more than 16 lbs or you will blow out the plastic restrictor and at a 14.95 and shipping 15 bucks you need to have it in the system so the heater core doesn't burst. http://www.ecklers.com/corvette-hot-...1992-1996.html
If you don't have this in the system it will blow the heater core!
If you haven't messed with the cooling system then the heater core is the problem.
If it is making a bubbling sound when you shut it off,the valve could be broken.
Burping it would be usless!

Intake gasket leak would not cause bubbling in the coolant. Are you losing any coolant?
