I'm getting ready to install new rear pads, do I need to apply anything to the back of the pads, I noticed on the old ones there was some old crusty stuff on them...thanks
I use this type of compound everytime I do a set of pads - but to each their own. Make sure everthing is clean, apply only a thin layer to the back of the pads where they contact the caliper and/or brake piston(s)...then insert pads into caliper.
depends on the backing. if metal backed yes, however, some pads come with an insulating layer between the back of the pad and caliper that serves as an anti sequel. on those the goop is not needed
