These things should be mocked up on the bench, they're so difficult sometimes. But, they're a heck of an intake when you get them on and they're the only EO compliant alternative for an L98. Here's a link to an old thread from 2005 where I discovered a gasket problem when I mocked my SR up prior to installing it: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...ep-inside.html
The readers digest version of that thread is that incorrect gaskets will almost always cause a vacuum leak on the driver's side EGR passage if the gasket slot is too long (see pics below). This might also be a consideration for you in sorting out your issues

What I've have done in the past. I've slotted the bolts so I can use a screw driver from the top. Also I've have disconnected the fuel injector connectors and rotate the injectors away. And used this type of wrench. (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...1&blockType=G1) to bolt them down even....
Well...
Pulled it all apart yesterday....Runners were on the wrong side. Had a lengthy discussion with a machinist and he thought switching the runners would not make a difference in .024" gap. Cleaned all of the gasket material off of all parts and mocked it up correctly, and it is much closer to working.
Here is the procedure we are going follow.
Use the right stuff on both sides of the lower runner gaskets, install runners hand tight, mock up plenum dry and tighten down to locate the runners, then tighten all accessible bolts on the runners.
Once those 12 bolts are tight, remove plenum, torque all of the 14 runner bolts to 22 ft lbs. Then we will install the fuel rails, injectors, wiring, egr, vac lines, pcv, etc etc. Lastly, we will RTV the upper plenum gaskets and install plenum and tighten down all of the bolts.
This should make this superram stop leaking.
I want to thank everyone for their input and ill let you know how I make out. Should install this Friday or next week sometime. I still have a ton of RTV to clean up and surfaces to stone and such.
Thanks,
Mike

Good to know you are in the right track Mike !
I have a done the SR a couple of times of course with help from all this CFSR Experts
and i always use Grey RTV,both sides,i know gaskets won't be reusable when i take it apart but , who cares i can always get a new set to make it right.

Well...
I used black RTV for the install, let it cure for 3 days, and it seems that my intake leak is finally history. There is a chance that its not perfect, but I need to work on the tune to know for sure (well mseven does).
I was able to install the fuel rails and injectors after the runners. I mocked it up dry and tried, and it was somewhat difficult, but it was doable.
I installed the runners with RTV and gaksets hand tight, then installed the plenum with dry gaskets, tightened them down, then tightened all of the runner bolts. I then removed the plenum, installed all of my wiring and fuel rails/injectors, then installed the plenum and tightened everything down.
I feel confident that this thing will be fine. I am was very happy to see I had the runners on the wrong side and I'm sure i'll never make that mistake again.
Here is what It took to get my superram installed correctly.
16 m8 x 1.25 helicoils
13 m6 x 1.0 helicoils
3 gasket kits
32 fuel injector orings
1 tube of the right stuff
1 tube of black silicone RTV
1725 swears
1 bolt dropped into intake (recovered with magnet)
1 screw driver dropped into intake (recovered with magnet)
10 years of my life lost due to anxiety
Thanks for all of your help. Car would be an insurance claim if it wasnt for you guys.
