Default Trying to remove excess wires.

I removed the A/C, EGR and the A.I.R from my 86. Now I want to clean up the wiring so the leftover connectors are not just laying on the engine. If I just open up the harness and remove these wires back to where they go thru the firewall, can I just cut them off with no ill effects? The EGR wires on the drivers side of the engine go different directions in the harness when they get back to the firewall. Some go towards the battery in the harness so I would cut them and tape them back into the harness. I have the engine out now for a rebuild so now is the time to do this. Will I have any problems with just cutting these wires off?

I only use this car for autocross so it will not be put back.

I don't think the A/C or the A.I.R will cause any problems, the EGR might throw a code but for what you are using the car for it really won't matter

When you have everything assembled, you won't see them
i didn't want to cut them so i put some rubber caps on them
and tape and they are hiding behind the water pump, near that area

All the above have a feed that is hot ; key on that needs to be made safe. The other side of the EGR /AIR goes to ground at the ECM

The AIR /EGR feed through the firewall (pink / blk ) splits inside the loom ; the A/C is seperate

I just cut off the connectors, taped ends of wires and tucked them back into harness.

The black wires go toward the connection that goes thru the firewall to the ECM and the pink with black stripe go the other direction in the harness toward the battery which are probably hot? at key on. I will test these with a light for power and put a rubber cap on them inside the harness.

That should take care of any problems?
