I finally removed the FRONT sway bar. I intend for the rear to stay put and some day I am going to fab up an adjustable link so I can pre load the right rear.

Will,

That's some serious horse power. 1/4 mile times?
It's a decent motor for what it is.

1/4 mile tracks are too far away for me to drive the car to. Wrecker companies up here are absolute scumbags... If I broke something.... Add in the fact that I don't know where the tune is.... Just not worth the risk right now.

The 1/8th mile track is only 10-15 miles away and I know the people there. When I broke last season a fellow local racer used his roll back and pulled it home for me... Then I had to practically force him to take a few $$$ for his gas.

I'm hitting almost 100mph in the 1/8th, leaving real easy and not spinning the tires, so figure 125-130mph in the 1/4 mile as is. That is fast enough to run low 11's maybe high 10's.

I know there is more in the tune and way more in the first 330 ft...

When everything is all said and done if it won't break 100mph or 6.90's in the 1/8th, I'll take this toy motor out and build a real one.

Guys I am under the car and the rear end on my 1990 reads ( 2.59, 44-17, 21 SEP 92, 10163874, 605490-4 1205 ) I marked the drive shaft and the wheel with a sharpie and the case has a 307 gear. I aloso found all of my u-joint straps where loose.

Your car should have a 2.59 rear gear as indicated by the case numbers... It is possible someone changed the ring and pinion before you got the car. Before you said you knew it had a 3.07 gear so I'm guessing the orginal owner told you he changed it...

Most likely when they had the center section out to work on it/change the ring and pinion they didn't tighten them up like they should have.

I was told when I bought the car that it had been upgraded with Z51 suspension and a 307 gear. I changed to a 100 hp shot on my nitrous system today and if I hit the system in second gear the car will fish tail until it shifts into third. It won't be long form the sounds of it until I wreck that rear end, I guess I had better read up on how to change it out. Should I look at getting a lower gear like a 3.73?

I just got your email, but no PMs. Odd... I replied back to your email.

One time, years ago, I broke a rear, and it let go of one of the camber bars, as in the camber bar came loose from the rear. It could have done some body damage. Be careful, if you know it is on it's way out.
