Starting Problem now wont start.. ECM?
This is the 3rd time it has done this.....
Left for work drove about 1/4 mile stopped at the store came back out and it would not start (cranks no start).. Pop hood check wires, batt, etc fuel pump runs but no start.. 10 min later I try it again and it starts right up runs fine. Took it home rode the bike to work, Got home starts right up drive around start / stop runs fine. Next day same thing tried starting numerous times no start waited about 10 mins and it started drove to work (30 miles) after work and for the next 3 days no problems at all.
This morning 1/4 mile drive and no start had to get it towed to the garage. Mechanic hooks up computer and said no data transfer computer is not sending any signals and no security light when key is in or in the on position........ Does this sound like a bad ECM due to the intermittent starting problems? Or could it be a Vats problem?
The car runs fine when running but doesn't feel right. I'm sure there are some that know what I mean.
You could have an intermittent problem with the ECM or intermittent 12v power to the ECM. When it won't start, THAT is the time to start diagnosing what the problem is. I hope your mechanic is able to find the problem.
