I just bought the Home Depot bushings a few weeks ago. They are in the Hardware section in the specialty bolt/bushing drawers.
Crown Bolt brand
27/64 long
29/64 OD

That's pretty much what I did. I found some nylon spacers at HD. They were 1/2 inch. I had to gride the side a bit and super glued them in place to the axle, but they worked just fine. Next time I might find something metal that won't pulverize like the nylon material.
Why on earth GM used any kind of bushing is beyond me. They should have used a metal gear with a axle that had big splines on it or was square going through the center of the gear.
Go to one of your local auto parts stores and look in the Help! section. Part # 74410 is Window Regulator Gear Plugs and they work perfect. $8.50 and you'll be working in no time.
