This post is kind of evolving as it goes. Also going backwards to forward(?). The original post was about testing the opti. The problem w/ grounding the relay goes back quite awhile. The car has been down for a long time, working on it when I can. For whatever reason one day it wouldn't start. Since then I've had the ECM rebuilt by Cardone, replaced key cylinder and keys, relays, fuses, Opti, plugs, wires, cleaned the grounds, checked fuel pressure and taken every other bit of advice I could find in this forum. I think it's an ECM problem but I've sent it back to be retested and they say theres nothing wrong w/ it. Before the day it quit starting I remember sometimes I would have to hold the key in the start position for a second or two before it would crank. Anyway, the reason for the questions about the ICM and coils is that I just replaced them with new ones from Advanced Auto, then the car wouldn't start at all. One of them was bad so I put the old ones back in and now I'm back to the start. Or no-start.

Any codes? I've gotten 41 and 42 with ICM issues. Make sure the contacts on the ICM connector are tight. I had the same sort of problems and it ended up being the connector contacts making poor contact.
