The Check Engine Soon/Now message on my 1988 has been appearing intermittently over the past week, with no problems in performance noted. Is there a way to determine the event that is causing this message to appear?
A code reader or paperclip will flash the SES lamp to show the code, if it remains set. Run a search for "paperclip trick" and you'll see how its done.
Thanks for all the info. I was able to get the code indicating oxygen sensor. I found the sensor and the wire was disconnected! Maybe a previous owner....so I'll just keep me "code tool" handy if the service engine light comes on again.
