Ok so my project is done. New Bosch III injectors. New exotic muscle headers. New ac evaporator and heater core. It's all back together and when I turn the key to the start position there is nothing. The security light blinks and that's it. So I checked the battery terminals and clutch lock out. I hooked up my remote starter and it fired right up.
I've been over this in my head and I can't figure out what it could be. Would a faulty VATS do this? I did have the heater core out and think that's where the vats is.
I know it has to something simple and obvious but I can't for the life of me figure it out.
With key in "crank" position, check for power at clutch switch/gear selector switch. If it's not there, check at starter enable relay(behind info center)
Thank you I will. I suspect its the plug on the Vats control module that is up under the passenger side dash. I'm thinking when I had that all apart to replace the heater core, I didn't plug it in the whole way. I should have some time later this week to check it.
OK I did some troubleshooting with my manual. I do not have power to the clutch safely switch. I moved the starter engage relay and I have battery power from both yellow wires to ground. If I place the jumper from E1 to the Green/White wire it cranks. So apparently the pass key control module is not pulling in the relay.
Where is the pass key control module? Is there a way to bypass the VATS crap? At this point, I can care less if someone wants to steal this thing!
