I installed an Electric water pump about two years ago. one of the seals on my timing cover has been leaking so when i was looking at that i noticed coolant coming from the weep hole in the water pump. Its been a while so i dont remember exactly how i installed the electric water pump.
does this mean the freeze plug or whatever i put in was installed incorrectly or do i need a new water pump and put the electric motor on it? im going to take the old water pump off tonight and take it apart to see what i find. but any advise in the meantime would be appreciated.
Well since you already have the electric water pump in there now it should be a lot quicker to fix the pump this time. If you don't want to put anther freeze plug in there I've heard of guy's JB welding a Quarter over the hole, I guess a Quarter is just about the right size and JB weld is great stuff to fix things like that. I'm sold on it, had great luck fixing many things with it!
You might be right it's been a while since I read about doing a electric water pump. You could always JB weld over the new freeze plug to make sure it doesn't leak again .
