Default AC High Side Valve

Does anyone know the size or have the part number for the High Side Valve on an 89 manual Vette? It's not a standard schrader valve. Thanks!

It might be these...

But I'm not sure. Mine was replaced by the shop when I had my AC system fixed (3 times).

Karma, doesn't look like what I need.

VetteMed, that could be it if it has a valve attached to the tool. I'm going to head to chevy today to see if they have one. It's hot and I need my AC fixed!

1/4 male flare on one end 3/16 female flare on the other end.
Same adapter is also used on some 70-80's Ford vehicles.

You might try Pep Boys - the last time I was there, they still had some R12 stuff including an Adaptor Kit.

you cant replace the core , you have to replace the line if the high side port is leaking, its called the evaporator tube I think.

He's looking for an Adaptor for his Gage set and you better hope you can replace the valve core because the High Line is long out of production.

I'm looking to get the valve core out. Sounds like it is built in and is not removeable so.... guess I have to look for an entire line.

The core can be replaced; at least I've replaced mine at least once though I was at a Shop trying to figure out where the leak was - try these guys: www.ackits.com Call or post on their Board.

Okay, got the part and tool from O'Reilly's.

High side valve core item number 59345.
Removal tool item number 59302.

Hope this helps someone else who may find themselves in the same spot.
