Default Need some advice.

Looking at buying a c4 here pretty soon and curious how hard it is to get to the 300-350hp range. If so whatis the easiest most reliable way? Anything would help.
Thanks

I assume you mean wheel HP since all >L98s had 300+ HP out of the factory.

Any C4 can be made to produce 300 WHP with a 100-150 shot of nitrous. If you want the fun to last longer than a bottle any supercharger or turbocharger setup should get you into the 400 HP range.

None of the L98's were over 275HP. The 86 only had 230.

Lol im looking at a 86 and they claim to have 220 on paper. Starting there what would i have to do to get to 350whp? if it will be difficult i might just steer away.

Buy a crate motor or do an eldelbrock power package...not too tough to get 350 whp

The 86 was either 230 or 235 if you had the aluminum heads. Bear in mind that the L98 was a torque monster and the 700R4 was geared towards that.

You would need around 440 hp at the crank to get 350 to the wheels. A stock C5 has 350 hp at the crank and would probably be cheaper than building up a C4.

That being said, 440 hp is not a tough goal. Buy a crate motor for $4000 at summit.

Put a turbo on it. Lots of fabrication required.

Put a supercharger on it. Deal with belt slip.

Not sure if you were agreeing with me or disagreeing. By >L98 I meant "greater than" L98, like LT1, LT4, LT5, LS1... etc. None of the L98s had anywhere near 300 FWHP.

An LT4 with a bit of nitrous could easily do 350 WHP, and 9K is a pretty low entry price! If you like what nitrous does you can always add a turbo or supercharger and get way more than 350 WHP.
