Default RPM gauge don't work on '89

Hello experts,

Just got my first vette, it's an '89 conv.

For some reason my RPM gauge don't work and I wonder how can figure out why?

Gauge itself seems to be fine as when I start the car (/turn the key) it goes all the way and come back. Therefore, I'm guessing that something is disconnected somewhere, but don't have a clue where to look.

Please advise.

Thanks,
O

Possibly the tach filter. Located on the distributor I believe.

Sounds like the "Tach Filter" , these are attached to the bell housing at the top bolt and run about $30.00-$40.00. Most of the Corvette parts sites have them...WW
