-Fuel price same as gas when you consider the 15% to 30% more that you use
-Can run gas if you want by just switching the tune

In general E85 has lots of benifits for people looking for increased performance.

My stock 2009 5.3 truck makes 11 more HP on E85. My 406 vette made 21 more RWHP on E85. My 555 BBC drag car made 55 more HP on an engine dyno with E85 compared to race fuel.

I run E85 in my 1986 vette, and 1988 Firebird and so far have not experienced any fuel related issues from running E85.

Spend less money and make more power. Oh and its good for the environment. Oil stays cleaner longer.

E85 is a great fuel. I've used it on my previous turbo car. It's great for turbo cars as it burns colder and reduces intake temps. I'll prob switch to it on my vette down the road after i take a break and get some seat time on pump.

E85 here is crazy cheap. 2.80 something i think.

My turbo car went from 342awhp on pump to 371awhp on E85. Was able to run more timing as mentioned above also with no detonation.

Cool info! So let me get this straight. All you need is bigger injectors and better pump? If I am building a new engine and already have larger injectors, 255 lph fuel pump and, and adjustable FPR, is tuning it the same? I shoot for 14.7:1 air fuel ratio, and look for knock counts etc, like on regular gas, but the end result will be a different tune than on regular gas?

This is the pump I have. The 255 is to small. Do a search on google and look up stoich for e85 and study.

Did you need to upgrade any of the plastic components?

Well since I already bought the parts I guess the E85 conversion will have to wait. There is a lot of cool info out there. I didnt know it was as simple as changing a few parts to convert to E85.

How has it been doing?

I switched mine over and it is way nicer to work on without the gas fumes. There is so much misinformation on E85 that it makes my head spin!

Kubs, I didn't change anything with my switch. I bumped the fuel pressure 15 PSI because my 32# injectors are a bit small. Check max pulse width. Also I have a 190 LPH Walbro pump still. Check FP at max RPM. You don't use 14.7 for E85 unless your gauge converts. 9.7 is stoich and what I put in for tuning. I also had to bump up wot fuel, cranking fuel, and timing. Switch the gauge to lambda instead of gas a/f.

I'm sure there is a lot of info out there on it but just in general...I have a DFI system and one of the parameters is "Target A:F", if I were to run E85 I'd set this to 9.7?

I'm also wondering if I should tell it the injectors are 30% smaller...if only there was a way to type in some keywords and have a program search the internet for them. if. only.

ninja edit: much more to it, i know, just looking at the basics for now...

Yes target A/f for cruise would be 9.7, down from 14.7 which is stoich 1:1 for E85 compared to gas. Using lambda is better then it is just one to one without a ratio thrown in. You don't have to change injector size settings. I did have to add cranking fuel etc. Any fuel setting will need to be increased.
