Hi guys i'm running hedmann headers on my 85 stock, they are long tube 1"5/8,the rest of exhaust are 2"1/2 inox pipes , inox polished center resonator and mufflers.Do you lost bottom end torque with long tube?I feel like engine now breaths better and pulls highier but it seems to me it lost torque at bottom...may be, or am i wrong?

I can't say anything about Hedman's. I've heard they're an inexpensive header and not of the best choice out there, but then again, you'd need to ask someone with more header experience than me. As far as my car goes, I got alot out of my headers. And I put them on at the same time as my Superram. The SR is known for a bit of bottom end loss on an otherwise stock engine like mine. If that's true, my Tri-Y's must really be doing the job. You might try starting a thread like "are my Hedman Hedders any good" or something like that. Don't pay attention to anyone that outright trashes your choice, but rather read what the more explanatory guys will say. There's where you'll find a better answer.
Hi Corvette Bob, thanks for the interest in the cylinder head situation, in the end Summit took $200 of the cost of the second head and then reimbursed me for the $200 shipping to Australia so they cost me a total of $1700 shipped for CNC Edelbrocks,
as for the header situation my problem is the car has been converted to right hand drive, the steering shaft runs run up next to the header pipe out of no.2 so I cant use off the shelf headers
only option is aussie made headers for the rhd conversion at $850.

I'm glad to hear things got a bit better on the cylinder head situation. As far as the headers, I'd wondered about that, a bit. As expensive as $850 is for a set of headers, by the time you buy even a cheap set from the US, and then pay for shipping, you're probably better off buying some from home.
I just looked at summit, i can get a set of hedmans shipped to australia for $300 !
then just get someone to modify cylinder no 2 pipe and Im in business
WOW! I'd have never thought you could get them there so inexpensively. Is that $300 to your door, or just the cost of shipping?
When you said Summit reimbursed $200 for shipping the head, I figured a set of headers would be somewhat similar to ship. Not so much for the weight of the package, but also the size as well. If headmans are the ones you want, then I guess you're all set!

I was surprised too, but thats the total cost shipped to Australia, and with the aussie dollar the way it is. it works out to about $280 aus !
better start reading some Hedman header threads

thanks for the pics tuneport, I like the way the Hedmans on the right side are swept back the way they are, It looks like they might come close to clearing the steering shaft that runs on the right side of the engine on my car
