I would invest in a 52MM throttle body (58mm is too big), and obviously do some port matching between the intake, TB, and heads

This was done right next door in Covington by the way.

32s with a 255lph pump will work fine.

I read that the std. 48mm TB was good to 450 HP??? Is this correct?

Probably true, but so is a less restrictive 58mm......

IMHO 58mm is absolutely NOT too big!!!

My 58mm is on and staying on

FYI: The intake will need to be ported to run a 58mm TB.

Might look into getting some gears too.

I gotta ask one question. Why buy a new cam, and then use 1.6 ratio rockers? Why not just get the right cam in the first place? is there something I don't know?

I have 4:10's now.

This cam has extremely fast ramping and was designed to utilize 1:6 Rockers.

Any suggestions on how to get the car to my muffler shop with open headers and not get thrown in the slammer? I really don't want to rent a flat bed trailer if I can help it..

Thanx

Could you get a piece of flex pipe, clamps and some coat hanger wire to hold it up until you get there. I tried stuffing steel wool in the collectors one time and it was quiet until it caught on fire and spewed little flaming ***** of steel out from under the car. I don't recommend that.

I drove mine, even past a cop. As long as you go light on the throttle it won't be that loud. Oh, I did have the cats clamped to the headers, that might have muffled the sound a bit.

Thats how I drove mine to the muffler shop. My plan if I was stopped was "I'm on my way to Magic Mufflers to have the exhaust connected to the mufflers in the cargo area" I'm sure that would have got me out of any trouble.

Dennis,

Thanks for a great deal on your LT1 Mufflers. I'm holding on to them in the event I decide to hush mine down some more.

I read your thread and it looks like you got a good plan but I would not let people steer you away from the 58mm TB, but as STL94LT1 stated you will need the intake ported for the larger diameter bores of the TB. You might consider getting your intake port matched to your new heads anyway by a local machine shop. I know I had Lloyd Elliot do my intake for around $200. He removed a ton of metal from inside and cleaned up the runners a bit too.

I used 30# SVO injectors but your 32# will be fine.

On the exhaust, I drove my open headers for five miles to the shop and had no problem.

Good Luck! Keep us up to date
