Default vacum reading

what is a good vacum reading 85 corvette and if you do have a leak will it change idle up and down 2to 3 rpms

Yes, a leak could cause fluctuation. About 19" would be in the ball park.

thanks for the web site have a nice vacum ga but no instructions just trying to figure this fuel injection system out have checked everything by the book and still has a flutter when idle figure a leak or fuel problem

Have you tried to set the minimum idle and TPS idle voltage ?

true it is .55 still have to check fuel filter but I think it might be a vacum problem only thing that does not work is door to a/c-heat did find some cracked hoses repaired them but might be another one

Check lines to cruise control unit (above battery) as well.
And the vacuum ball in front of the left front wheel, and the charcoal canister (also in front of left front wheel).

I think it might have been the timing I put a vac guage on it and was playing with it and moved the timing engine smoothed out and seems to run smooth

now when i first crank it like this morning the idle went up to 15 then when oper temp was reached it dropped to 650 is 15 to high for warm up and how do you adj

Must be another misprint. Do you mean 1500rpm? It might be a little high for cold idle. That is programmed into the computer. The cold idle speed will decrease as the motor warms up. Do you have a manual or automatic?

I have an auotmatic, it does decrease after temp is reached it drops down to 650 I reset everything again checked all figures and when I was done I pulled the neg cable it seems to idle about 600 when temp is reached I have to let it cool and later tonight will see how it does

car seems to idle ok now but still runs high when you first start it I was told to check the cooling sensor to the ecm
