Default Frustrated! Fuel/Air problems?

New User... I have an 88. Just put on the road two weeks ago, I had a 1/2 full tank of year old gas and added some fuel additive to help with old gas. I ran tank almost out and added 94 octane and 108 booster. the next day it started up and ran fine until I stopped and tried to restart, I have to hold pedal to the floor to restart... replaced MAF, no change, Plugs are fine, when it finially starts it runs very rich and hard for about 3-4 min and then idles fine and runs great. Only on start up do I have trouble. Any suggestions...\

..... Check for fuel in the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator ... you may have a leaking diaphragm ... or a stuck or sticking fuel injector ... the 3-4 minutes gets you into closed loop and the O2S starts commanding the pulse-widths to adjust the AFR back to stoich ...................

Thanks for the Info. I will check the regulator and vacuum this week. I have a feeling it may be the injector(s) Is it possible that I burned them out by using the octane 108 booster? thats when I started having problems.

You can't "burn them out" with octane booster but your car only needs 91 octane.

My first thought is similar to yours....I would suspect that the booster (accelerated) the corrosion of the regulator and/or injectors. I haven't read about booster harming/leaking into the injector coils, but you never know. Any chance it was alcohol-based?

Do an Ohm test (on the injectors hot and cold). Measure your fuel pressure.
