I don’t see any pictures that you posted so I am posting 2 pictures. They are both fittings on the low pressure side. One is for R12 and the other is R134. You should be able to identify which one you have.

How can you be so sure about the fittings and what type refrigerant I have?
I can't tell anything by the pictures, just too far away for me. Also not owning a 91, I can't exactly see where to look. But I think even if I did, there is still not enough detail (at least for me).
Freon is always added thru the low pressure fitting. You have to use the correct set of gauges (R12 or 134) to measure pressures and connect to Freon supply. If you can identify that fitting, that would tell you what is probably in there.
Do you have someone around you know that might be able to help you out with a visual inspection?
