Default Crossfire brainfart. Could it work?

Using an older crossram i.e. GM Offenhauser Weiand etc etc. Tons of them out there.
Might need linkage mod but should bolt up (no egr of course)
Or even a tunnel ram for that matter?
Shoot if you geared the car right, proper head/cam could be a winner no?

Could this be tuned, is there an rpm limit on that ecm?

It could & can be done.

An expert cylinder head porter & intake porter can help out greatly.

And has a boat load of experience also.

Only 1 choice here to me on C4.

He is in California & its Ron.

Sure it can. Has been done several times. Similiar results to Xram,Renegade, etc when use on a stock 350. Tunable as well when mods to a newer ecm is done.

IMO, I like the idea of using ebl/flash with HAM board installed. for a small fee that ecm can now be upgraded to the multi port version. And just by plugging it in you can easily run HSR,miniram,Superram with no wiring changes to the orginal harness.

For those keeping the CFI principal, just remember any of these intakes will work but its been proven time and time again your best bang for the buck if keeping the stock bottom is just fully porting the orginal intake. Any of these others do flow ten times better but without making any other mods with it your gains will only be 15 to 40 hp. When I first put on the Xram I had it dyno'd and it showed a 36hp gain at the wheels. Best run at the track was a 13.3. Heres a thought why not just make your own Xram?

Have you ported a stock crossfire? Please share so the rest of us can see the results.

Have you been told lately

I recall the late CFI-EFI gave you a good education on the subject but you chose ( as always ) to dispute his results.
Accused him of running NOS I recall

The LATE CFI-EFI? That's too bad...Somehow I missed that thread/post. Kinda been wondering why we hadn't seen posts the last year/two.

The problem is the constant changing directions of air streams. That would limit the rpm as much as anything in a cross ram.

A wet charge is a lot heavier than just an air flow charge.

Now here's a thought. Figure out a way to get a Bosch injectors into each plenum and go get a GM supercharger off a 3800 Buick, over drive it and see what happens?

Does not seem all that daunting a task?

I look at that old intake on the shelf every day, and wonder if I could make that work?

Porting my stock crossfire manifold seems to be the best option that I can see at the moment. Renegade performance in a fraction of the time and almost no expense. And it is something I can have a go at myself.

Problem is I wouldn't know where to start and what I was aiming to achieve. Is there a "Guide to porting a cross-fire manifold"?

Install a Cheater Nitrous System on the bottom of the stock CFI intake after porting.

Fogger NOS system.

Run the fuel & nitrous lines through the backside of the block.

Go an tell everyone its just a stock 1984 CFI engine.

Then bet them $500 that you just may win.

Let them laugh at you.

Go race & HIT the upside down hidden fogger nitrous system ON after 200 feet or even after the 1/8 mile.

You just want to beat them by a half a fender length.

Play it cool..........

Stick your right hand out & say " Pay up now".

I have seen it done hundreds of time in the 1980's , 1990's early 2000's.

The best hidden NOS systems cant be found in the dark even with 2 guys searching with flashlights.

Ron is an Excellent Cylinder Head & Intake porter Steve.

His workmanship & expertise in this area next my own abilities in this area....
He makes me look like I am still in Kindergarten- Preschool.

Every penny you spend on a professional head & intake porter is well worth it.

Ron delivers the goods like he says he will.

Unlike the dude that you bought your Renegade intake from & never received 1 year later something.

I would trust Ron 100 %.
