Default 6speed question.

When I disconnect the CAGS, will I still se the on to fourth light on the dash? Can I fix that somehow?

Can I use redline oil in the tranny? Or what is best? And how much goes in ( in liters )..

Regards

Cags light still works, you just don't have the annoying 1-4 shift forced on you.

I use Castrol 10W-60 from the BMW dealer. It's approved by ZF and it's synthetic. Takes a little over 2 liters. Redline MTL isn't ZF approved or the correct rating for the ZF. Lots of folks use it, but not me.

i unpluged mine, i have yet to see any related lights lit including the upshift light.

i've only heard good things about redline brand, but i have no idea on the requirements for the zf6.

I have my CAGS unplugged and everytime the "one to four " light comes on, I smile knowing that the General is not controlling my shifting.

I reprogrammed the CAGS in the computer. The engine has to be running at 250 degrees and the speed has to be absurdly low for the CAGS to be enabled. My light never comes on. It also looks factory from underneath, although the headers and lack of cats probably give away that it isn't stock.
