I am working on a 95 coupe that the interior lights do not shut off for 20min and eventually run the battery down, I have also noticed that when the key is turned on the interior light do not come on with the door open, they will work from the manual switch, as soon as the key is turned off the lights come on and stay on. I have had all the door jamb switches and the rear hatch switch disconnected, the lights stay on, have tried a new ccm with no change. Checked the inputs to the ccm from the switchs, they are working properly. If anyone has come across this or something similar or has any ideas your help would be appreciated thanks.
That's the way mine works but they go out in about 5 min. Locking your door with the key should turn them off. You may need a new battery if that's all it takes to kill it.

Ron is headed down the right path. The door lock switch also plays a part in later C4 years interoir lighting if I have read different postings here correctly. Make sure the key lock on the door is straight up and down and see if that solves your problem. If not, look in side the door at the back side of the lock mechanism and see if there are any wire connectors there. If so disconnect them and see if that works. This is somewhat speculation on my part as I have an '85. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in if I am wrong and point you in the right direction.
