Allright, looks like the winter project is finally ending. I believe I will be ready to fire up the new build this Thursday, and just had a couple of questions about the bottom end strength.
I have LT4 rods and an LT4 crank in the motor right now. It looks like I will be turning about SAE 525hp and 475tq at the crank. At this altitude actual output will be considerably less - probably 20% less. I would assume an LT4 crank and rods are OK with this, but what about rpm's? Are they good for up to 6500? It looks like I will be hitting max power at 6300, but I will have to dyno obviously to be sure.
Your bottom end will handle the hp. Bottom end strength limits rpm potential. The stock LT4 had a redine of 6400. I would not go over that much without going to better rods.
