think 65Z01 and vader86 each have sites that show you all the free/cheap mods you can do.
-Some remove the frisbee (big disc) attached to the front of the water pump (not sure if yours had one or not)
-Cut the airbox lid
-Lower temp Tstat and fan switch

It's next to impossible to get more hp without some money.
Porting is easy and relatively cheap if you can do it yourself, but you're still going to need to buy new gaskets.
And since you don't want any shavings or any lose 'crap' in your oil, you'll need to do an oil change and flush the radiator and refill.
So, depending on how 'little' money you have, it's going to be an uphill battle.

I've seen people trying to mod SBCs' with no money
and the results are : Car parked for over 5 years or more.
Never could afford the parts to put it together.
I would save , get a budget ,get the parts ,then tear it apart.
A method i use is to sell my current parts to make some $$$
and then pay the rest for the upgrades.

Totally agree, sometimes its better to leave it like it is
and gather the parts with a cup of patience.
Power costs $$$ and more power costs more $$$ and when you have enough, having a bit more costs even more $$$
and when you have all the power you ever wanted you will need more $$$ because parts will break so you will
need to upgrade more parts to handle the power , get traction ...etc etc etc
It's the real uphill battle !

dude, do they have roads in panama that more hp would be needed for? I heard that place went in the toilet after you folks nationalized it. You might be better off getting that nasty smell out of it that you commented about in your other thread. I hear evergreen air fresheners work pretty well, you know, those little trees you hang from the mirror, hope this helps BTW you have seriously got the wrong car for no money

That pic is C4 blasphemy. HotRod is still trying to cover the loss of the 14 subscriptions and thousands of old magazines (all the way back to 1979) that were burned in the streets after that article. They did make that Vette a hell of a lot faster. I guess they could have been a little more sensitive about how they did it. I remember Mopar Action did the same thing, years before this, to a 440 New Yorker and got it into the twelves. They also had a thing called "12's for 1200 bucks" (including the car), in which they pulled the wastgate off a turbo Lebaron. Went from 7 pounds of boost to about 25. They were just having fun, but I can see why people were pizzed. IBTL.
