I recently replaced my starter on my 1990 convertible and while giving the car a bit of gas to drive up the car ramps, the ramps gave way and began to slide forward. Consequently I hit the breaks hard and to my surprise the car continued to slide. The front wheels locked up nicely on the ramps but as the ramps continued to slide forward so did the car and the rear wells rolled on the ground as if i had never hit the breaks. Eventually the car slowed to a stop after sliding about a foot and a half. The roll lasted about as long as the car was above idle. Is this a common problem among C4's or is it not a problem at all and is just the way it is with the high torque of the L98? Anyone else experience this?
Safety first is one of the best reasons to invest in a set of Race Ramps. The incline is so gradual that you barely realize you are climbing the ramps and there is no need to slam on the brakes to stop on the platform.
