Default 90 inflatable restraint sensor

well after 21 yrs the airbag issue has got me i have a code 16 lh sensor did the cleaning but when i removed it it had black goo oozing out of it. still have the code after reset so i need a sensor will the 91 to 96 sensors work and if not where can i obtain one for a 90

I think only the 90 or 91 are the same. Don't forget to DISCONNECT THE BATTERY when working with the INFL REST system. Take a OHM meter to it and see if it's within spec. before you try to replace it. Pipe

Suggest checking the slip together sensor wire connection @ the cockpit side of the firewall. The connection does not have lock tabs, on the 90 it worked its way apart & code 16 was displayed.

You will need to access that connection to check the sensor ohms.

Mine had the same leaking out. When I completed the sanding, cleaning, and regreasing process I reset the code. It took about an hour practicing to get it right. Once I got it the code went away. 3k miles later and it has not returned.
