Default Bosch III injector performance poll

Please consider this poll primarily targeted to owners with STOCK motors. That means stock motors where B3 injectors have been installed with little/no additional modification!

After installation of new or rebuilt Bosch III injectors, please indicate your results. If results were less than expected, please post why.

Jon will be monitoring this thread to determine if any real problems exist (since he started selling B3's years ago), what other solutions might be appropriate for common problems, and he has even been considering this year's widespread implementation of E10 fuels (and whether sizing changes may be appropriate to maintain stock performance).

Of course, for any problems you may have, please report them in detail and include the (diagnostic) steps used to determine need for injectors and how you ruled out other problems.

No problems with mine. I highly recommend them. In fact I am up to 4 bar or 58psi and they are even better.

My SVO's were toast after sitting with H2O in them for 6 months...

The problem with my Bosch3's is that they flow better than my SVO's, and I need to get the chip redone to compensate for it. It's running VERY rich right now.

installed a set of boschIII's in my 96 - starts immediately without any hesitation, performance seems a bit better, but i really can't say or compare it to the original multecs, BUT low speed throttle response has greatly improved the car just feels like its running much better. idle is extremely smooth. on a recent trip to canada (800 miles round trip) i averaged 28.5 MPG highway (no computer - old school calculated). no regrets with the boschIII's...

They are pretty good Jon's Bosch 3's.

I feel though there is room for improvement or refinement for stock replacement L98 TPI applications and fro guys like me that love to run them flat out at high speeds over 100 to 150 mph.

From 0 to 100,

I rate them a 85 or 90 % satisfactory.

I do wish to say that I think Jon banner is a standup guy.
Spoke to him a few times on the telephone.
He is Kool.

Something about the stock 1986 -1988 L98 C4 TPI flow characteristics & minimum opening time that sets them apart from the rest.

For less than 200 bucks for a set of his injectors,
hard to beat.
At least you can get your C4 up & running again & drive away.
If You drive normal, the BOSCH 3's 22 pounders will be OK for You.

If You drive like a maniac like me.........foot on the floor every chance you get....
There are some issues or bugs need to be worked out.

Dont under stand the need for a poll, mine are perfect, 25mpg, no issues, reason I went with FIC is that bout 95% of the threads on this site where injectors were the actual problem were fixed by injectors , and often Bosh111's from FIC. price is excellent , service is over the top, FIC ROCKS. He has a lot of friends and believers , one being me, hope this helps

It's because of Jon. It is to support his business. Why, you ask?

There are one or two bad apples who are trying to convince Jon that he is missing something about the technical feasibility of his products. He sincerely cares about his business and his products. (I say this, not him.)

In a recent thread that many of you read, the question of B3's and start-up are in question. I would also add thru more detailed participation in the "details", that others have questionned everything from coil resistance, to latency. For the less trained CF member, that means a few people honestly think the B3 coil/injector operates SO differently that the injector can NOT be considered a drop-in replacement (vs OEM). (To those guys, I say B.S. and get a grip.)

OTOH, for people still looking for an injector solution, this question really does need to be asked. If there is a problem, Jon seems driven to discover it. Even this week, he's trying experiments with modifying injectors to solve a problem that doesn't exist. (My bet is there's no problem. This poll is to prove it.)

If the poll uncovers a problem, that's OK. I think the people in the forum are smart enough to respond. If it doesn't, I'm sure it will help him stop obsessing over what he can do better. Knowing, personally, Jon and his business, I know he doesn't need more stress. He needs to know his products are the right choice for a unique class of Corvette.

57 psi WOT fuel pressure using a Mallory TPI adjustable regulator & 1990 ZR-1 Daul FP assembly was my answer to WOT issues above 100mph.
Kept cranking up FP till I could top out at 150 MPH once again with BOSCH 3's.
That happened with 57 psi WOT FP.

Greg, I can not vote.
How about changing 100 % satisfied to at least 85 % satisfied.
That way I can vote too.

this is a pretty good testomonial for the b111's, have you considered increasing your injector size........just a tad?

Can you tell us why you're on the second set? Did you install them in 2 different cars? I'm just wondering how long they last on average. I know they have a 3 year warranty.

Its near stock Bob.
Unless the previous owner stuck in a Hotcam or similar.
I have not even removed the Precats or main underbody Cat yet.
Never had the cylinder heads or top end off my 87.
Was a very hot runner when I bought it in 2007.

Car runs so strong I toasted the original 700 R4 & a GM Certa remaned 1988 C4 trans too.
Built my own blueprinted 700R4 with a custom hand made stall.

Been running the Bosch 3's since spring of 2008 if I recall correct.
And installed while I toasted the 2 700R4 transmissions.

My 87 lays down a twin strip of 315's rubber for 50 feet easy just stabbing the gas hard.
No power brake.
Lots of fun....

BLM's at 128 dead on.
Need to install my wideband O2 & check WOT AFR.
Something always comes up & can't get to welding another O2 bung in to test.

Started with 24#s when I was running premium gas. They were maxed out on duty cycle when I went to E85, so I bought bigger Bosch IIIs.
