Default A/C controls flaky

1990 C4 87k miles, working on getting this thing roadworthy. Today I finished charging A/C. Wasn't easy though. The control box kept changing selections and ususally put itself into Auto mode. Air kept blowing out of top and bottom vent no matter the selection.

I have searched and found this:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...-question.html

not sure if cruise works. Will look for the check valve though. But after that clean contacts on the control box or the programmer? Someone mentioned a DIY on this but I am unable to locate.

Could my control box be going bad - that is why it keeps changing itself?

Reading FSM now.....obviously it is telling me where the parts are.

I wonder if I have a ground problem because my cluster LCD keeps blinking too, grounds are related.

Man my ac controls do the same thing I think they are in disco mode sometimes. However whatever I press is the selection it makes even though the light may be on off, if I press manual, it starts shooting air. You aren't alone

Well, I cleaned G201. A/C control is not jumping around anymore. It blows out defroster vents still - must be a vacum issue now. Fan stays on 0 speed in auto.

Cluster still doing a hieroglyphics dance, guess I need to pull cluster and check solder connections.

There is a thread on cleaning the contacts. I did it and it works like factory new.
