Large black air hoses as they relate to the air diverter valve and the exhaust manifolds emission tubes are not adding up for me.
I am close to starting the car.
These hoses have me at a standstill for now.
Can someone share a pick or link that will show how these hoses are connected?
1. Right side exhaust manifold rubber hose
2. Left side exhaust manifold rubber hose
3. Pipe traveling from exhaust system passes up near right side exhaust manifold
4. Air diverter valve 3 outlets
Any chance you can sent me the same/workable link? Can't find my FSM and have just replaced the water pump and not sure how my diverter hoses go back together.

If they are still like the 85
I can say the passenger (higher)one connects to the pipe and the connector from the manifold. They connect together and a bolt on top of the water pump secures them. The lower on connects from the egr pump and the vacume tube connects to both. Both have power plugs. Edit the smog muffler should secure to the water pump bolts(AFTER the A/C bracket is attatched) and attach the hose to the lower valve.
Good luck
1989 uses a different diverter valve setup. The two valves are combined into one unit.
I took pictures - but unfortunately, not of the area that I need. My main concern is how the pipe from the exhaust manifold that crosses in front of the engine to the unit by the A/C compressor, connects to the engine or water pump. Can add picture later but it seems that when the hoses are hooked up to each side, the mounting flange on the pipe points toward the radiator and sticks out too far to connect to anything. I don't remember removing a plate that could connect that mount to the engine or to the top of the water pump (wish I could find my FSM to see it there was a picture - to see if I am missing a piece!!) - but that is possible.
