Shifting An Automatic Transmission?
Does it hurt an LT1 automatic transmission it I manually shift through the gears; 1st to 2nd to Drive? I think it's more fun that way, and the car resonds better by being in the lower gear.

It depends on how well you can feel the powerband.
Whatever you do, DO NOT RACE with it in OD! OD removes the overrun clutch from the driveline. Racing with the selector in OD will place more load on the forward clutch pack and reduce the total trans torque capacity. Simply racing with the selector in the 'D' or '3' position will increase transmission lifespan and performance.

Yeah and don't grab 1st gear at 70 – 80 she will not like it… But it will do it…
