Has anybody tried taking apart the power mirror adjustment switch to fix? Mine won't move the mirrors downward and was hoping there's a way to take it apart and fix. I'm on a tight budget and can't afford to buy new parts. It's on an 89 vette.
Beats me, but the switch is long out of production so if you have to replace it, I can't imagine a boneyard charging more than a Buck or two for a used one.

If you're talking about the mirror selector switch, yes I pulled and fixed mine several years ago. It's a VERY simple switch...simple design and easy to fix.
The toggle control was a bigger PITA since it had dropped thru. You have to pull the console to get at the mount. Took me several yrs before I ended up with it far enough apart to retighten the allen screw.
Everything is perfect now. Never had to buy a new part. Same with other switches (like hatch release). They can usually be repaired if you have a bit of ingenuity and patience.
I had the same symptom on my 94. Passenger side mirror stopped moving up and down. There is a thread here somewhere, but in a nutshell, I popped the mirror off the mount, got the 'up/down' motor spindle and twisted it to free it. It had seized in place. Not the switch at all. Been working for 6 months now. Hopefully that will be your problem and will save you some cash and time. 10 minute job.
Selector Switch - Left/Right - is/was still available. The Toggle buried in the Console - Up/Down;In/Out - is out of Production. I don't know of anyway to service either without removing the Console Cover though that isn't that difficult.

You have to pull the console. Remove the A/C bezel. Go into the bottom of the center console to detach the rear of the center console. Somewhat hidden "secret" panel hides the screws. The rest is fairly straight forward.
The toggle is held in with an allen screw that must be accessed after pulling up the center transmission bezel.
If the switch is still in the console, try spraying some CRC electrical cleaner in to the switch. It worked for me. Mine wouldn't go up or down, but would go sideways. I installed new seat tracks and the tilts didn't work. I heard from someone hear on the forum about this electrical cleaner, tried it, and they all worked. So...I tried it on the mirror toggle also, and now they work. Worth a shot.
