I plan on changing the heads and cam in my 86 , so I want some that will breath better that the stock intake . I was thinking of the mini ram but after reading some of the posts on the forum , I'm not sure if I should since I have an auto with 2.59 gears . I don't want to lose low end and not be able to get the thing moving. What do you think I should do go with the mini ram or is there something better for cars that aren't as highly modified
So Im curious, does the SR give low end grunt like the stock system and then run out of breathing room. I am looking at the same mod and also cant decide.
The superram clears the hood fine.
It runs smoothly up until about 6000-6500 rpm, for this reason its best for an automatic IMO. MR for a 6 speed, and either for a 4+3.
If you want to go for an MR on an automatic, youll really REALLY need at least 3.54-3.73 gears and a 2800 stall Torque Converter.
