I'm at more than twice that on my 383.
Your engine costs almost as much as my car did.
My engine has already cost more than my car did.

HAH, amateurs...your strokers cost only 1/4 of what my car (or any old '91) costs today in Finland (>$25K)
But serioustly, it really is amazing how fast the money goes out of the door when doing this stuff. One needs loads of tools, different fluids, cleaners, paint, seals, gaskets, tune up parts etc. which do not come to mind when starting a project. When I started my top end project I thought only things I need is some machine shop service and a headgasket kit  How wrong I was... :D
Scorp, like the guys pointed out we have not spend so much yet after all ;) and seems like you are getting a lot for your $ when I only get my car back to road with some minor upgrades. Well, I am still happy when it runs ok and maybe I get a additional 15-20 hp out of this rebuild too. :D
Take heart Scorp...Mine's sliding in right at $9-Large. :cry
Figger $6k for the motor, $1k for the SuperRam, $800 for the exhaust, $400 for the chip and I haven't even GOTTEN to the Piddly Shift Stuff. (Like the Stage8 bolt set I just picked up for the GOLDURN Hooker Headers! at $40, and $85 for the MSD wires, and $80 for the Fuel pressure guage, and $250-ish for the C5 brake adapters)
