Default Rear hatch switch

I was messing around in the passenger kickpanel area trying to sort out a datalogging snafu over the weekend. This area is filled with miles of wires and harnesses from my Accel DFI and TCI transmission controller and who knows what else. After I got done, the rear hatch switches from both doors won't activate the rear hatch. The console one still works. Anyone have a picture of the connector(s) or relay in that area that might have gotten unplugged? I checked the fsm but that was no help. Thanks, Willie

That's the symptom when the Courtesy Light Delay Timer fails.

The module is behind the passenger side dash area taped to a wiring
harness.

When you open either door do the interior lights come on?

If not do the interior lights come on when you rotate the headlight
**** all the way counter clockwise?

If yes, the module is bad. You can bypass the
timer by unplugging the connector at the timer module
and you'll see the connector has the following wires.

This is for a 85. Your 84 could have different color wires.

Pin A White wire
Pin B Black wire
Pin C Pink/White wire
Pin D 2 White wires
Pin E Pink/Black wire

Short the White wires together.
The interior lights will now come on when
either door is opened and shut off as soon as you
shut the doors.

There's one on E-bay for $19.00.

I'm in the process of gutting and rewiring an 86 road race car and working on this. The relay is in the back or the car. The harness is in the pass footwell.

Thanks guys. You are great. I did some research yesterday and planned to do some crawling around looking for the courtesy light timer. I'm sure that must be it because that's where I was last at when the hatch switches went kaput. Appreciate the help Rich and Hooked. Willie
