Default 1994 driver's side window switch

are these not made anymore? What are you guys doing if these go bad? Do any of the vendors offer them? Or is it off to the junkyard to find a used working one?

thanks ,

Sully

You will have to look at finding used ones unless you can find some NOS parts.

I'd be interested in seeing that thread too. My passenger side switch isn't working so I just bought a used one on ebay.

Default Drivers Side Window Switch - Down, No Up

This is a very old thread, but I couldn’t find the post that describes how to fix this problem. My 1996 has developed this issue and I thought someone might be able to help direct me in how to get the switch out so I can clean it.
TIA

fwiw, i do my searches on the 'net, as searching on the forum seems unfruitful i found this >>> https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-problems.html

Also, if these are the switches you need, this came up under key words 1994 c4 corvette window switch >>> https://www.google.com/search?q=wind...hrome&ie=UTF-8

Thanks for the information. I don’t know what I need yet. Haven’t started to take it all apart.

I had that problem too.

I bought a used one.

And then I decided to try cleaning it. I took the switch out and used WD40 to spray into it. I worked the switch quite a few times before I put it back in.

It worked immediately. It is still working after about 7 or 8 years.

Good luck.

@QCVette thanks for your reply. Is the switch, i guess what I'd describe as a 2 stage switch? In other words, the initial push lets driver lower window and stop in desired position. An additional push activates the Express-Down feature?

Thanks for your reply.
Is it difficult to get out? Does the door panel need to be removed?

It is easy to get out. Remove the screws from the grab area of the door pull, then lift the rear and slide it rearward to disengage the front tabs.
The door panel does not need to be removed. (see instructions below from '96 manual. I think '94-'96 are the same)

I am not sure of the features on this switch. I always just lower the window to where I want it. Never tried to see if it has an express down feature although starting in '94 chevy stated it has an express down feature in the switch for the driver's window.

Good luck.

Thank you to all who helped.
I went out early this morning and pulled the assembly out. Got my can of Deoxit and sprayed the switch. I didn’t take the switch apart, there are plenty of access holes. Plugged it back in and after a few actuations it was working again.
Greatly appreciated.
