Hi Guys,
Looking at the 91 it currently has Autolites in it. Still has the original wires too (Taylors are already on the way). What is the preferred plug for the TPI cars? I usually do dual platinums, but I had the Iridiums in the C5.
Curious if anyone sees any difference in brand, material, etc.
This has been discussed on here many times. It seems that most suggested using the stock AC Delco plugs saying the more expensive plugs make no difference. This is what I used and my car always ran fine ..Its the plug that was designed for this motor, so it should be the best choice.....WW
I was asking since standard plugs get eaten up quickly buy performance ignition systems. I guess I'll go with some double platinums if no one know of anything better.
I would use Delco or NGK. Autolite is a Ford plug.
I do not think the plug knows or cares and wouldn't that statement means a NGK is a Kia plug LOL to the person that said performance ignition eats plugs. The spark jumps the gap when the voltage available passes the voltage required so if cylinder pressure requires 7000 volts it does not matter if you have 10000 or 50000 avilable it all goes at 7000.. Pretty basic ignition system tech.

That was me. Run an Accel Super Coil at high RPM's for a while on regular copper plugs and see what the electrodes look like. Add an MSD unit and the erosion is much quicker. The platinum resists that much better than the normal tips do.

If you know so much about plugs then maybe you could answer this poor guys question.
