Sounds like a pretty solid knock, more than just the solenoid. Almost like the bendix is hitting the flex plate instead of engaging and allowing the starter to turn.
Can you get a socket on the front of the crank and give it a little movement in either direction and try to start it again?

At least you know that you can get it to start if you have to, but probably gonna need a starter/solenoid replacement. Got any mechanically inclined friends that will work for beer?
Any that's recommended? And I have a local Garage that's been doing work on my Families vehicles for 30 plus years. I will take it to them, I get great deals last time I had my tires rotated and balanced it was free of charge

If you are happy enough with them working on your car, I would let them select the starter.
A very common problem with the Nippondenso starter
are the 2 copper battery lugs and the copper disc
on the solenoid plunger pit and make poor contact.
You can purchase them for around $20.00 on Ebay Motors.
