One of our local Sears store is closing. They are marking items down. Any recommendations on the Sears floor jacks? Floor stands..?
I got the cheap Craftsman 2 1/2 ton floor jack made in China, started leaking fluid after 2 years. The Sears jackstands are another story, they are rock solid.
I have two of the craftsman 3 ton floor jacks. They have both worked pretty well. I bought them about 3 years ago.
Even though they are the same model and bought at the same time, there are differences between them, so I think that Sears has multiple suppliers. So take your chances on what you actually get.
Get a floor jack with at least a 3 ton capacity, the lightest weight(your back & body will thank you),& one with the best warranty cause they WILL leak & cost almost as much as a new one to get repaired, unless repairing yourself.Lastly, buy a quality one because your life may depend on it.Don't want your wife to find you dead under your vette because you were cheap & bought a china made piece to save a few bucks
I have bought three heavy durable floor jacks, first one is 35 years old or more. Bought two more 15 years ago, quick lift on first pump. Gave one to my son for Christmas. Keep telling him to read the owners information, when stored leave the handle in the down position.
How do you like the HF jack and ramps....any info appreciated.

I bought 2 of the harbor freight aluminum jacks. I have had them for a couple of years and they have worked well. I got the aluminum ones that are low enough to go under a C5. They are light and the have been pretty good. I was also impressed with the fit and finish and appearance of the jack. They really are pretty nice.
I got ones before they changed to the "quick lift" or "rapid pump" so it takes several pumps to get it up to touch the car. I actually like that better since I like to go slow and make sure I have the jack positioned where I want it before I start lifting.
