I have a 1994 C4 w/13,000 miles. I keep it on trickle charge during winter months.Pulled it out to just run it the other day.
When i start it the volts read 15 then drops down.
I,ll leave it running after 5 mins. starts missing a little.
Pull it out down drive way starts running rough.
Put in drive punch it starts breaking up & popping.
Then hard to start volts read 11.9-12.3 on dash gauge.
When started it bucks & misses, wont stay running.
Any help?
1st thing to do is run that old gas out. And while you are driving stop at Autozone advance wherever and have them check the battery. If you haven't changed anything on the engine the odds are they are OK.
I put some Gas line Anti-Freeze in the tank and its running fine.
Thanks everyone for you help.
Damn that Ethanol !
Huh? Gas line anti-freeze is basically an alcohol and last I checked not that much different than ethanol. They both ABSORB water. I bet you have water in your fuel.
You should store the car with the tank full to minimize condensation with lots of Sta-Bil. I would double dose your car or drive it.
