What ECM/PCM Parameter Modifications for Performance
I am thinking about having the ECM on my '96 LT4 reprogrammed to have the cooling fans click on at 180 and 190. I just like the idea of the car running cooler in the Texas heat.
The local shops wants $200 to reprogram it, so I am thinking maybe I should get some other parameters changed while they are in there.
Anyone have any recommendation of parameter changes?
There is no set answer to your question, custom or performance tunes need a dyno or some wideband A/F datalogs with a fair amount of work. Maybe shift points might be looked at; but in all reality, why fool with it if it's not highly modified?
FYI, fan modifications for 200 dollars isn't all that bad when you consider the DIY equipment would cost you more, and then you'd have the learning curve to deal with. G/L
