Hope this isn't the dumb question of the day but I'm trying to change the opti on a 94 auto. The engine is turning as I'm trying to remove the 3 crank balancer bolts. What is the best way to keep the crank from turning? My guess is trying to hold it at the flexplate but not sure.

Thoughts?
Hold it at the flex plate.
If your working alone, you can just clamp a pair of vice grips on the flex plate so it bumps up against the tranny/block.
If you've got helper, he can use a big pry bar to to hold the flex plate.
