Default No Power at all..Need Help

New to the forums, This morning started my 85 Vette. The instrument panel flickered once and everything shut off. No lights, no power at all.
Battery is hot and charged. Could really use some help on this. Not sure if its a fuse, or even know where there might be a fuse box other then the one on the right side of dash. New to vettes, alot to learn.
Thanks Dave

Since you are referring to the instrument panel and no power.....I will make the assumption that the car runs....just no instrumentation.

Chances are that you will have to have the panel rebuilt. Mine did that a couple of times, but came back on. It eventually would not come back on.

I had mine rebuilt by Taber Corvette Parts in Indiana. Person to talk to is Kevin Taber - (877) 349-2838.

Just to give you a heads up. You have to unbolt the two bolts under the steering wheel column and drop the column down to get the panel out. You also have to remove the center instrument panel.

Good luck.

Check here for info on how to fix your cluster:

For reference, I have had mine out many times and never unbolted the steering column. Just tilt the wheel down as far as possible and put a rag/towel over the top of the column to prevent scratches. Some people recommend taking out the tilt lever. Mine won't come out, so I have never done that either.

Sounds like you need to check and see if your battery connections are clean and tight.

Batt. terminals are clean and tight.. Can anyone tell me where the main negative conection is? Well, pos./neg. connections good, engine cranks well if I jump cellenoid. Still no power inside car

On the block above the oil filter on the side of the engine. A 19mm head bolt holds it on.
