Default BPP Vortex Rammer Cold Air System

I was looking into buying a Vortex Rammer Cold Air System for my '87. Has anyone had any experience with them?

I have seen, good, bad, and indifferent. Take a chance if you want, but personally BPP gets $0 of my money. I have their air pump delete kit only because I was able to buy it used off of somebody else.

It seems most are against this mod but I put one on my 94 a few months ago and have had no problems. I like it! Getting cold air from the bottom always helps. Especially in humid midwest climates like Missouri.

The best part is when you have your hood up and guys that don't knwo wassup look at it and say "whoa.....dude thats killer!"

It isn't the most cost effective bang for the buck but it works!

I put on my Flowmasters, didn't notice much but the sound was great!
Then I cut a hole in the shroud to get cool air. I could instantly tell a difference. Then went to the track and the car went 2/10ths and 2 mph faster than my stock times with no other changes. Had k&n and modified MAF and jacobs wires when I bought the car.

Then I realized, after getting a leaf in the MAF, I was completely by passing the filter. So I had to do something. I blocked it back off for a while.

Didn't get to the track after just the Vortex install so I can't give you an exact number on it alone. The number I can give honestly was 2/10ths from my previous best w/ Flowmasters and a cut shroud.

I know no filter may have been "faster" but I feel like the BPP works well with the design and the sealed box! The air has no where to go but in the filter to the motor! Just my opinon

It appears that they had some quality control problems a while back (I know about that first hand), but apparently they've squared them away. I had a warped box (that attaches to the upper radiator shroud) and a warped snorkel. I gave them a call and they sent me replacement units the same day. I have yet to install the new pieces (this Thursday or Friday), so I hope I don't run into the same problem in the future. If I do, I'll be taking it off the car and replacing it with something else.

I bought the car with a broken air intak housing and I am looking for something one step up since I am going to be spending the money for a new one anyway.

Does anyone recommend a different one?
