Sometimes it has spark and runs.
Sometimes when I go to start it it doesn't have any spark at all.
It will run very strong until I shut it off, then sometimes no spark when I try to start it again.
Start with the basic's, carefully inspect wiring, Connections, and grounds!
I've already done that, everything looks clean and tight.
I was thinking more along the line of anti-theift system.
It's Getting fuel. This is part of the ignition chip/ switch setup.
I have a by-pass set up on that.
The clutch relay has been bypassed, couldn't find another one. That was attached to the starter.
If all the connections are tight in the distributor, I might try replacing the coil if that the one that is mounted in the cap. It might be intermittent.
The pickup coil I think might be suspect to a lesser degree.
When it doesn't start, check the pink wire going into the distributor (unplug it and measure the voltage). It should have 12 volts on it when the ignition is on. This voltage comes from the ignition switch, so that will at least give you a better idea of where the problem is.
Another test you could try is to disconnect the EST connector. That will bypass the part of the ignition module controlled by the ECM.
