While having my FOB tested, Chevy recommended I clean my throttle housing on my LT-4. How is this done? And where is it located (I can't push down on the throttle and look for it to move at the same time)? I'm thinking carb cleaner or brake cleaner but they said they had something "special".
To properly clean the TB, you need to remove it, but that's not difficult. Carb cleaner and an old toothbrush will work just fine to do the cleaning. Pull the IAC out of the TB and clean it separately with a "sensor-safe" cleaner.
You don't need to step on the throttle pedal to open the throttle plate. Just do that by hand where the throttle cable attached.

1) Where can I find a "sensor safe" cleaner?
2) What's the IAC and what's it look like?
Sensor safe cleaner will say so on the can. Most likely it will be right next to the carb cleaner. The IAC sticks off the right side of the TB and it unscrews from the TB Make sure to clean the IAC bore in the TB as well as it will accumulate crap in there as well. Dont think you can put something in your gas tank that will clean the TB its all taking it off and scrubbing with a tooth brush and using a can of TB cleaner.
