For those of you who have been putting off checking the torque on your intake manifold bolts, a little reminder to grab your torque wrench and head out to your garage and check 'em.
I had to remove my manifold on my 94 LT1 because it leaks and I don't think they have EVER been checked. The driver's side was particularly loose, in particular the back two bolts on that side. While they were not loose to the touch, I barely pulled on the ratchet and they spun free.
It just so happens that it looks like that area was one of three where I had a significant leak.
Thanks for the reminder- It's Father's day, so I've got a pass on the "Honeydews". That should be a good project. Now I just have to dig out my FSM to look up the torque settings.
