Default Can I remove this stuff?

My smog pump went out so I thought I would just gut it because I can't afford an eliminator kit right now. Do you need all that smog stuff if you don't have the smog pump working or can you just remove it all? I was curious as it had two electrical connectors going to it and was worried it wouldn't run right without it or throw a code. Thanks.

All the black stuff associated with the smog pump in the pic is what I am talking about.

You can trash all of it. The air divert valve and hoses. You should not throw a code. I have had mine off for more than a year with no probs. You will also need some pipe ends to thread onto the check valve once the hose is removed. I thought you guys had the smog police in TX. Dont know if you will pass visual inspection with all the stuff gone

I threw mine out in the 86 with good results. No codes.

Inspection isn't a problem as vettenoob can help and I have a place here that will give me the sticker by only looking to see if my lights work. I have yet to have someone open my hood. Heck, my friend went open header there in his mustang and got passed.
