What CAM???
Ok..... the SuperRam and matching intake base is on the way. The motor is out of the car. I still have the stock aluminum head on my late '86.
I just need to know What Cam?

OK. Checked the Lingenfelter site. That cam is a hydralic roller cam and my car uses a simple hydralic cam. What will I need to do to install that roller cam?

Cam Button, Wear Plate, retrofit Roller Lifters. I think that is all.

Re: (scorp508)
Hmmm how much does all that cost? I am looking in the Summit catalog and they say the retrofit roller lifters alone are like $380!

I know the retro lifters are in fact expensive, I just don't konw how much. The wear plate and button are like $35. :)
You could also have Comp Cams custom grind you one just like it.

Re: (scorp508)
Is there really that much to be gained with the roller/hyd versus the hydralic cam?
If not I would rather spend the money on something like......headers or a throttlebody.

Do the custom cam after you have some head work and preferably a stroker motor. :yesnod:

Re: (93Polo)
Some forum members mentioned problems with the retro-rollers wearing on the sides. The real roller block has taller lifter bosses and also has been tapped for the spider-looking support.
But yeah, they do make a retro-kit. Looking at the cost, I am going to stick with a non-roller bumpstick on this rebuild.

Re: (HighHopes85)
Well the retro kit is too pricy now. I am going to stick with the "bump-stick" cam for now. I have one on the way from Comp Cams that is the closest you can get to the 219 LPE grind you can get without a roller.
We'll see how it works out.
